Tasting Notes

The 2023 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru, with the usual microscopic quantity of 85 liters total, has a harmonious bouquet featuring dark berry fruit, tea leaf and subtle earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and a liberal sprinkling of white pepper. This is very harmonious with more weight than the Latricières on the finish. It's beautiful. (Drink between 2026-2044)

The minute quantity of Griotte-Chambertin has been destemmed berry by berry. There is enough to make 80 litres, which is about as per usual. The vines are densely planted with no headlands so as to optimise the space (0.0192ha). The 2023 has a lively bouquet with white pepper and a lifted mini raspberry fruit on the nose. It is gloriously sensual, then firmer tannins kick in behind in a good way, lending admirable support to the glorious quality of the fruit. Stunning once again.
