The purity and integrity of the fruit on the nose is impressive, with ripe strawberries, orange peel and hints of white pepper and dried herbs. It’s medium-bodied with crunchy fruit, lovely fruit tannins and a vivid finish. A mix of Dijon clones. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
The 2024 Pinot Noir Calvert is dark, brooding and a little mysterious. Cherries, creamy vanilla and spiced chocolate make this very engaging, but it requires a little more bottle age. Though ripe, there's tension and grip on the midweight palate thanks to fresh acidity and a tannic frame.
