Château Canon in St Emilion has been owned since 1996 by Chanel, who also own Rauzan-Ségla in Margaux. The investment in both properties has been significant, and it has been done well.
 
In the blind tastings that we host at our offices it invariably matches, and frequently trumps, the very biggest names of the appellation. In his recent article on Bordeaux today, the Wine Advocate’s William Kelley ranked Canon as one of the top ten most dynamic estates in Bordeaux, and with good reason. It is fair to say that Canon is now firmly in St Emilion’s new elite, and is easily one of the top five properties of the appellation.
