The Best Value Chablis On The Market

Summer is on its way, albeit in peculiar circumstances. These odd times mean that a glass of crisp white wine has never been more welcome and what better name is there in the world of crisp white wine than Chablis?
Sadly, a lot of the lower-priced Chablis in the market is of fairly indifferent quality, but we are delighted to buck that trend! We are offering the latest vintage of Verget’s Cuvée de la Butte – with an impressive 90 point rating and a price of less than £12 per bottle in bond.

This is a lot of wine for very little money. It is produced from fruit grown within the famous Premier Cru vineyard of Les Butteaux but these grapes do not qualify for that status and the resulting higher price.
Vinified mainly in stainless steel tanks and closed with screwcaps for guaranteed freshness, this classic Chablis offers benchmark minerality, freshness and acidity. It is fantastic value for money and we are absolutely convinced that you cannot buy a better Chablis at this price.

In stock now and ready for immediate delivery, this is your great value, reliable, crisp, dry white for these unpredictable times. As we are all working remotely, we'd be grateful if you could place your order online or by email, rather than by telephone.

“The 2018 Chablis Cuvée de la Butte is a success, revealing pretty aromas of citrus oil, grapefruit, white flowers and oyster jus. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample but stony, with racy acids and a saline finish."

90 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate

“Grapes for this wine come from within the 1er cru "Les Butteaux" in the village of Chablis . It is exposed south-east, has a very calcareous soil and a very steep slope.  The free run juices were vinified in horizontal stainless steel tanks for 95% and 5% in barrels. The fermentations ended at the end of November. Elevage continued in horizontal stainless steel tanks and a few older barrels, on the lees, with a little batonnage, for a further 7 months. Clean, bright white fruits and citrus come through no the expressive nose that is youthful and pure in fruit. The palate follows in the same vein, with juicy citrus and stone fruits at the core and racy acidity cutting through the fleshier, riper tones. There is a little cream on the palate that adds to the body but this is a mineral, fresh and driven style. Great typicity, freshness and vivacity, perfect to drink now."
