Customers of Farr Vintners will be well aware of our love for the wines of Jamie Kutch. Buyers of his wines will be equally aware of their outstanding quality, character and completeness. His wines, in both red and white, are paradigm examples of what can be achieved in California with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.  We have just received our allocation of the 2022s.

Praise for the wines is strong. Antonio Galloni writes: “Based on what I have tasted so far, Pinot Noir is the real surprise of this vintage. The wines are aromatic, deep and exceptionally well-balanced, with terrific fruit purity and plenty of site character. In some cases, the 2022s surpass the 2021s

Jamie’s whites are as impressive as ever: John Gilman writes on the “straight” Chardonnay: “The 2022 Chardonnay “Sonoma Coast” bottling from Jamie Kutch is a lovely wine… quite a lovely drink right out of the blocks.” And on the Trout Gulch Chardonnay: “vibrant, full-bodied and beautifully structured out of the blocks… This too is first class chardonnay.”

These wines are packed in 12s, though can be ordered in 6 bottle quantities and we can also a mixed case of 6: 1 bottle each of all the reds plus a bottle of the Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. Stocks are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.

These wines have been favourites of ours for some time now. Whilst they speak very much of their specific locations within Sonoma, Kutch's mineral-driven style gives a firm nod in the direction of the Old World. They are very bright, clean, ethereal wines that will reward cellaring but can be enjoyed now, if given some air.
