Sourced from Pierre-Yves’ own vines and his father-in-law’s, from three plots below, in the middle and above. Pure lemon yellow. The bouquet is delicious and very typical of this part of the world, pure clean white fruit, some elegance even, perfectly balanced ripeness with a good fresh feel to the finish and very persistent with just a hint of sucrosity and a hint of toast as well. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted Oct 2021.
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes performed especially well during élevage last year, so I was curious to revisit it in bottle. Wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, beeswax, orange oil, petrol and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with bright acids, chalky structuring extract and a long, saline finish, fulfilling all the promise it showed in barrel. 2025-2050.
