Tasting Notes

Ripe but airy, elegant and cool aromas feature notes of white peach, acacia blossom and citrus confit. There is good richness to the succulent and generously proportioned yet reasonably well-detailed flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the crisp, clean and dry finale. This mildly warm effort needs to develop better depth but the potential for that appears to be present. Drink: 2026+

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (83), June 2021

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne exhibits aromas of pear, white flowers, fresh peach, mint and praline. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's rich and textural, with succulent acids and a gourmand, generous profile. As usual, this is a cuvée produced with purchased grapes from a parcel farmed and harvested by the Sauzet team. 2022 - 2038
