Delicious fruit, with enveloping chocolate tones, the smoky and gamey notes of the Alicante Bouschet playing against hints of herbal character. Fleshy substance, but longevity too.
80% Alicante Bouschet, 20% Trincadeira. Dark black cherry colour. Very ripe red fruits, herbal, blackcurrant-cordial-like fruit. Concentrated but with a finely grainy texture to lift it. Some attractive medicinal notes. Juicy and rich and surprisingly approachable given the concentration. Lovely freshness on the finish. There’s lots to this wine in addition to that lovely fruit. Layers and layers and then a mouthwatering finish of wild garrigue flavours.
