There are a couple of new reds in 2016, including the exciting single vineyard Garnacha 2016 La Breña from a plot very near Rumbo al Norte in the village of Navarrevisca at high altitude. The wine is not exactly like Rumbo al Norte, in fact, I'd say it's something in between Rey Moro and Rumbo al Norte, combining the spicy character with the minerality, without the same depth, a little more rustic, but with potential. It comes from only 0.3 hectares that they have recently bought. It's aromatic and combines Mediterranean touches of aromatic herbs with cooler aspects of spices and cold granite soils. A great debut, very impressive for a first vintage, so this should improve as they work and understand the vineyard better. Only 874 bottles produced.
