The wood influence is a bit more evident on the brooding and distinctly earthy aromas of underbrush, dark currant and an herbal tea note. The rich, muscular and markedly fleshy middle weight plus flavors are shaped by notably firm and mildly rustic tannins on the bitter pit fruit and oak toast-inflected finish. This appears to have the density to absorb the prominent wood treatment and my rating offers the benefit of the doubt that it will ultimately integrate. Drink: 2028+
