Discreet wood serves as the backdrop for the deeply pitched nose that is comprised by notes of pepper, game, earth, dark currant and that sauvage character for which Gevrey is so well known. There is excellent richness and volume to the sappy and full-bodied flavors that display plenty of minerality on the highly complex, powerful and lingering finish. This structured effort has enough sap that even though it should amply reward extended keeping it should also be approachable young if desired.
