The 2011 Acte 3 is a worthy follow-up to the Acte 2 and should not be overlooked. The bouquet is very harmonious with blackberry, raspberry coulis, traces of freshly rolled tobacco and a subtle pastille element. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and less depth than the Acte 3. There is a sense of harmony here and towards the finish that tannic framework feels finer that the first two vintages. The elegance is very appealing and who can resist that touch of black truffle that sneaks in on the aftertaste. Very fine. Tasted at the Acte vertical in London. Drink 2019-2028.
Medium ruby-garnet in colour. A full bouquet of classic Cabernet Franc (which makes up nearly 50% of the blend) with notes of graphite, dried herbs and hedgerow fruit. The palate is compact and precise, with moreish and savoury fruit at the core framed by crunchy but balanced tannic structure. There is some mid-palate plumpness from the Merlot, but everything is well measured. This cool, midweight and fresh wine is at its apex now while the fruit and mature, earthy tones of bottle age are in perfect balance.
