Subtle wood sets off aromas of flowers, oyster shell and tidal pool that complement perfectly the racy, pure and strikingly well-detailed medium plus weight flavors that brim with minerality on the delicious, mouth coating and impressively long finish. This beautifully vibrant and concentrated effort should drink well young and age well too plus it's more classic in style than many wines from this vintage. Drink 2016+.
The 2009 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre has a more exotic bouquet than the 2010, with scents of white chocolate and almond more prominent. The palate is crisp and focused with fine precision, very harmonious with hints of hazelnut, orange peel and minerals toward the long but tender finish. What a gorgeous Chablis – rich but wonderfully detailed. Drink now-2026.
