A dark ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of cassis, herbs, and underbrush in this spicy, moderately oaky Pauillac. Bitter tannins in the finish make a final judgment somewhat cautionary. Two to three years of cellaring may be beneficial, but whether the fruit or the tannin will last the longest remains questionable. Proceed with caution.
Intense aromas of crème de cassis, mineral and light vanilla. Dark in colour. Full-bodied with a long finish. Very fine.
Racy, fragrant, polished and sophisticated. The alcohol seeps through on the finish but overall this is a wine with more personality than just the vintage. Very dry finish though. Ambitious. (Average group score: 16.3)
2003 Beychevelle placed sixteenth overall, out of 100 wines tasted blind, at the 2003 Farr Vintners Blind Tasting held in October 2010. For more information, please visit www.farrvintners.com/blog.php
Intense aromas of jam, spice and blackberry. Soft finish. Nicely done.
Dark purple. Very refreshing and neat on the nose. Lovely texture. Not a wine clamouring for attention but one that is happy in its own skin. Lovely supple texture but lots of friendly tannins underneath. A great pleasure. And who can ask for more than that?
