The 2020 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru has a quintessential, old-school nose with touches of damp moss and wooded glade. It's not as endearing as its peers in this flat, but I appreciate its typicité. The palate has a judicious dab of spice on the entry. It's impressive in terms of concentration, with satisfying complexity towards the finish. The 2020 is not a sustained Chablis in the mouth but has individuality and personality. Maybe a divisive Chablis? Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
