Meursault Genevrières, Domaine Buisson-Battault 2019

Tasting Notes

The 2019 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a generic, inoffensive nose that is technically correct but missing some personality. It eventually offers scents of orange blossom, walnut and quince but doesn't possess the animation of its peers. The palate is well balanced with a powerful entry that lacquers the mouth. There's undoubtedly some alcohol here but also a fine bead of acidity. Stem ginger and white pepper interlace on the finish, delivering the sapidity to tempt you back for the next sip. Just give it a couple of years to fully cohere. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
