Gevrey Chambertin Lavaux Saint Jacques, Domaine Claude Dugat 2016

Tasting Notes

A classic Lavaut nose combines notes of game, freshly turned earth, forest floor and dark berry aromas. There is more volume and an evident muscularity to the more obvious mineral-driven middle weight plus flavors that also terminate in a lean, austere and very serious finish. This is most decidedly not intended for early consumption as it will need time to flesh out but the underlying material appears to be up to the challenge. Note: from a .29 ha parcel of 25+ year old vines
