From a monopole of the domaine, the 2019 Maranges Clos de la Fussière 1er Cru was a little reduced on the nose when I tasted it. The palate is soft and rounded on the entry with layers of plush black plum and loganberry, the limestone terroir lending just a little spice toward the finish. A very typical Maranges, though this year I prefer some of Monnot’s other red cuvées that show a tad more precision.
