Very seductive nose. Slightly oaky. Sweet and certainly burgundian, with lots of tannin still on the finish. Very gentle and flattering. A very serious wine, especially for this vintage. Niepoort’s attempt at a Douro burgundy. No de-stemming, 18 months in French oak. The quest for the perfect vineyards for this fascinating wine continues apparently.
