Liger-Belair’s 2009 Moulin-a-Vent Les Rouchaux has gained an animal dimension to accompany its vivid black fruits, smoky tobacco, and deep minerality (to all of which I testified at greater length in my issue 190 tasting note). Its feel is almost silken now, yet it remains mouthwateringly saline as well as brightly refreshing to a degree uncommon for its vintage. This should be worth following for at least half a dozen years. Grab some if you possibly can! (Surprisingly, there was no indication that the 2010 rendition from this site would be imported.) 2011 - 2017
A ripe and overtly fruity nose offers up distinct notes of pepper and violets that merge into delicious and surprisingly seductive flavors that are not especially complex but it's hard not to like the texture as this could easily be enjoyed now.
