Babosa Blanco, Tameran 2022

Tasting Notes

The 2022 Baboso Blanco is from a rare and scarce variety (though they have planted a little more) that is unrelated to the Baboso Negro but apparently is the same variety as the one in Portugal known as Samarrinho. It fermented and matured in 500-liter barrels for 10 months with the lees. The wine has contained ripeness, a moderate 11.2% alcohol, a low pH (3.25) and notable acidity (close to seven grams). This is quite complete, austere and serious, not very aromatic, with a medium body that is seamless and balanced. 1,260 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.
