This fruity, up-front St.-Julien lacks the structure found in most 2002 Medocs, but it compensates for that with a supple, fruit-forward style, and excellent, herb-tinged, leathery, blackberry and cherry notes. Medium-bodied and pure, it will be at its finest between 2005-2015.
Drink 2011-18 Solid and sturdy. Very thick and almost inky. Not charming but solid. When tasting it, I wondered if it were Clos du Marquis, Las Cases' second wine.
