This is aromatically riper than its 2013 counterpart with its attractively layered mix of dried yellow orchard fruit and roasted almond scents. The succulent, round, very rich and seriously concentrated medium-bodied flavors possess an almost juicy mouth feel before terminating in a punchy, balanced and lingering finish. This delivers excellent quality for a villages level wine and is worthy of your interest.
The 2012 Clos de la Barre is going to be an outstanding example of the vintage, as it offers up a deep, pure and vibrant bouquet of apple, pear, almonds, complex, chalky minerality, spring flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a silky sense to its structure, a lovely core, superb transparency and a very long, pure and perfectly balanced finish. This shows all of the elegance of the vintage. (Drink between 2015-2035)
