Tasting Notes

This chateau, which is often under the radar (production is only 5,500-6,000 cases), has fashioned a terrific, inky/blue/purple-hued 2005 with a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers, creme de cassis, pain grille, and blueberries. Powerful and concentrated with full-bodied richness, stunning purity, and a tannic, 40+-second finish, this beauty requires patience. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2030+.

Offers loads of toasty oak and very ripe fruit, with hints of coffee and tobacco. Dark, full-bodied, rich and round, with beautifully textured tannins. Very long and caressing. Best after 2013. 6,000 cases made.

Tasted blind. Mid crimson. Lifted nose. Big and round and evolved on the palate. Not that ambitious but a very nice wine to enjoy already.
Drink 2013-2026

Deep ruby colour with a garnet fade, the nose here is earthy, smoky and savoury with notes of cedar and pure cassis. The palate shows rip cassis fruit and a round, plummy, plump fruit core which is framed by chewy but ripe tannins. Freshness of acidity and light violet notes make this an elegant, unforced, and well balanced wine that has a long finish pairing fruit and earthy development with just enough give in the tannins to make this ready to drink now.

Dark but with refreshing slightly toasty aroma. Very lively even if slightly marked acidity on the finish. Drink 2012-2018.

Very intense colour and nose with some oak and relatively simple blackcurrant juice. They picked from 26 sep until 21 oct – so the Cabernet was especially late picked. Quite austere tannins. Medium weight. Plump and satisfying if not exactly subtle. Certainly lots to get your teeth into and more Margaux than anything else. Drink 2013-2020.
