A deft application of wood sets off a moderately soil-inflected nose along with notes of spice, plum and pretty wild red berry scents. There is good punch and detail to the velvet-textured middle weight flavors that terminate in a firm and ever-so-mildly rustic finish that delivers fine depth and excellent persistence.
