Tasting Notes

The 2019 Olivier Blanc exhibits aromas of waxy pear, white flowers, grapefruit zest and Sauvignon botanicals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, tangy and incisive palate with a delicately textural attack, fine concentration at the core and a long, saline finish. This is a racier, more tightly wound white Bordeaux that should drink well for a decade.

William Kelley, Wine Advocate, April 2022

The 2019 Olivier Blanc has a very showy melon and grapefruit scented nose, a splash of apricot and peach later on. Just a bit one-dimensional. The palate is better with an attractive texture, slightly oily, some lovely Sémillon notes developing towards the finish. The aromatics improve with aeration, so give this time to do its thing. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

This shows lots of exotic fruit with sliced mango, lemon curd, lemon zest and a touch of honeysuckle. It’s full and layered with plenty of flavor and a zesty, lively finish. Vivid. Drinkable now, but will age beautifully.
