Chablis Montmains, Domaine François Raveneau 2016

Tasting Notes

Fresh and markedly floral aromas of pear and sea breeze reflect a hint of lychee. There is a sleeker mouth feel to the lightly mineral-infused, delicious and appealingly textured middle weight flavors that culminate in a clean and reasonably dry finish. This notably rich effort isn't classically styled but it offers enough Chablis typicity to be convincing. Note: from a .37 ha holding of relatively young vines in Montmains proper

The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains exhibits notes of mandarin oil, crisp apple and honeycomb, followed by a glossy, full-bodied and expansive palate, with ripe acids, good concentration and chewy extract. It's a more textural, generous expression of the vintage that will offer a lot of pleasure at the table.
