This too is quite fresh with similar fruit components but notably more spice elements as well as an interesting whiff of exotic orange pekoe tea. The super-sleek and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors possess a beguilingly sappy mid-palate texture while delivering excellent length on the complex and firmly structured finale. This isn't quite as energetic as the Aux Echanges but there is even better depth. Once again, this offers excellent quality for its level. As is generally the case, Trembaly's 2018 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes is the most reserved and introverted wine in the cellar, and it always seems to take longer to show all its cards during élevage. Unwinding in the glass with notes of raspberries, blackberries, potpourri, spices, grilled squab and espresso roast, it's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and ripely tannic, with lively acids and a long, sapid finish.
