Clos Saint Denis, Domaine Dujac 1999

Tasting Notes

There is just a trace of bricking. Hints of menthol and spice are present on the full-on floral-inflected red and dark berry fruit that offers outstanding complexity as well as the initial hints of secondary character. On the palate the sense of elegance flashed by the nose continues with its refined yet dense mouth feel that is at once succulent and powerful, all wrapped in a gorgeously persistent and equally complex finale. This is pretty much textbook Clos St. Denis and while this could be enjoyed now, the underlying structure communicates clearly that this is still developing. Terrific. Drink: Try from 2024+
