Darker fruits in this Huon Valley-born wine. Dark cherry, raspberry coulis and wild strawberry fruits with hints of struck flint, pastis, star anise, rhubarb, dried citrus rind, chocolate bullets, drying herbs, cured meats and earth. Expecting an exuberant wash of fruit, it does the opposite, cutting stony, savoury and nicely composed across the palate, with a powdered riverstone tannin fan and wisps of amaro herbs, exotic spice and purple flowers as it trails away.
