Saturated medium ruby. Very cabernet aromas of cassis, licorice, smoked meat and game, with hints of truffle, pepper, shoe polish and mint. Rich, sweet and pliant, with lovely seamless texture and early appeal. Very expressive for this wine, and easier to taste today than the young '99. Finishes very long and suave, with sweet tannins.
