Unfortunately because of time and space constraints, I am only able to list the sweet wines of Barsac and Sauternes and their finished scores without tasting notes. However, readers should know that the 2005 vintage has turned out to be excellent, if not outstanding. It is the finest year for these sweet wines after 2001 and before 2007.
Aromas of honey, dried apple and pear. Full-bodied, medium-sweet, with a solid core of fruit and honey character. Very impressive. Fresh. Juicy.
Tasted blind. Deep coppery colour. Not much nose. Lots of sweetness but not much subtlety. A tad beery. Sudden finish.
Drink 2014-2020
Tangy, lively, medium weight, pretty sweet. Good solid chewiness. Worthwhile yeoman stuff with some structure. Good effort and lift though not one of the sweetest. Very tangy. Drink 2012/25
