Tasting Notes

A distinctly spicy nose reflects notes of Asian-style tea, black cherry, cassis and floral hints along with a whisper of herbal tea. The lilting and gorgeously textured middle weight flavors also possess really lovely detail and energy while delivering excellent length on the stony, youthfully austere and very firm finale. This too is one to buy and cellar. Lovely juice. Note: 80% whole cluster

A distinct ingredient in Le Chapitre that he regards as Le Clos du Chapitre. 50-year-old vines. Hard limestone. Best terroir of the village of Marsannay but the INAO missed it initially, according to Pataille. ‘Jean-Yves Bizot makes a wine from this site and serves it after his Vosnes.’ Cask sample. Rather sumptuous and really polished, sweet and gentle. Very long and vibrant. Drink between 2024-2034.
