A fine crimson colour. The bouquet is immediately appealing showing a distinction not yet apparent in the Chapelle-Chambertin, though that will come. This is the more structured of the two, possibly even a little bit stern, but with a wealth of high-class fruit behind where the refinement begins to show. Drink from 2032-2040+. Tasted: October 2023.
Mid ruby in colour with a powerful nose of black cherry, hedgerow fruits and savoury, peppery wood spice. The palate is full bodied for Pinot, with equally impressive tannic richness and intense red fruit. This is very, very youthful, linear in fruit at this very early stage but the intensity suggests this will both flesh out and build in complexity over time. It certainly has the structure to age, the ripe, enveloping tannins never dominating the fruit. Expansive on the finish, this is full of promise.
