Tasting Notes

The 2015 Blanc de Lynch Bages is a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Sémillon and 17% Muscadelle. The nose is driven by the Sémillon at the moment, with lovely honeysuckle and lime flower scents emerging from the glass. The palate is clean and fresh, here the Sauvignon Blanc more expressive, quite saline in the mouth with a tang of lemongrass toward the brisk finish. One of the best Blanc de Lynch Bages that I have tasted in recent years. Anticipated maturity: 2018 - 2026.

A bright and flavorful white with sliced apple, pear and mango follow through to a full body, crisp acidity and lively finish. Lots of white peaches too.

The 2015 Blanc de Lynch-Bages has a little bit of sulfides on the nose with struck match scents over a core of lemon curd, ripe pears and peach kernels with touches of dried herbs and baking bread. The medium-bodied palate is refreshing with phenolic grip and a long, mineral finish. 2018 - 2031

Very pungent indeed. Almost Kiwi richness on the nose. Lots of depth though. Really racy.

A small quantity (under 1000 cases) of white wine is made at Lynch Bages. The mix here is 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and 17% Muscadelle. Aged in 50% new oak for a few months with bottling in April 2016 and release in September. The 2015 yield was less than 30 hl/ha. This is smoky and flinty with a lemon verbena, mown grass and saline samphire nose. The palate follows with salinity cut by vibrant, zesty acidity and mineral, smoky oak. The fruit is both citrus with lemon and tropical with pineapple. Intriguing, delicious and very moreish. A fantastic effort!

Cirrus and gooseberry the nose is fresh the start of the palate crisp but there is more depth and richness in the middle with tropical fruits and a hint of peach. The back palate has a complex mix of flavours pineapple richness underpinned by citrus the finish is long racy fresh and mineral. 2018-27

Lynch’s white comes from a parcel to the west of Pauillac in Saint-Sauveur on a north-facing
slope. Spicy and subtly oaked, with a touch of honeyed richness from botrytis, notes of green
herbs and cinnamon and a pithy, chalky finish. Drink: 2017-22

The 2015 Blanc de Lynch Bages, 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 33% Semillon and 17% Muscadelle, matured in 45% new oak. The yields were just 29.8 hectoliters per hectare, because of the dry growing conditions that particularly affected the Sauvignon Blanc. It has an attractive bouquet with scents of lime, gooseberry and beeswax, the oak neatly enmeshed. The palate is fresh and vibrant, harmonious in the mouth with a twist of bitter lemon on the mid-palate, easing down towards the finish with Cornice pear and citrus peel notes. There is very pleasant salinity on the aftertaste that urges you back for another sip. This is an accomplished Blanc de Lynch Bages that should offer several years' drinking pleasure. Drink 2018-2030
