The wood treatment isn't subtle though it's not dominant either as it serves as a noticeable backdrop for the otherwise fresh and pretty dark currant, spice and violet aromas. There is good volume and intensity to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that retain good definition, all wrapped in a delicious, complex and persistent finish where the wood reappears. The concentration is sufficiently good that my predicted range assumes that the wood will be successfully integrated with 7 to 10 years of aging. (Drink starting 2021)
