From a vineyard planted in 1890 on slate soils with a slope of 30% at 450m above sea level. Pale lemon in colour. Open-knit lychee fruit mingles with more driven citrus and green apple skins on the nose. There is something saline and stony about the character of fruit here that is very enticing. Acid tension lines the palate and allows the riper, fuller fruit enough freshness - yuzu, melon and red apple come together with the same salinity as the nose. Everything is wrapped up in a smoky tone, lingering in tandem with the fruit on the finish.
