Richebourg, Méo Camuzet 2019

Tasting Notes

A cool, airy and highly restrained nose features superbly complex notes of essence of red and dark currant, cherry, plum, lavender, rose petal and a wonderful array of spice wisps. There is equally superb depth to the dense, muscular and imposingly broad-shouldered flavors that possess a very classy texture before terminating an overtly mineral-driven, well-balanced, moderately austere and stunningly long finish. This is, in a word, marvelous.

The king of the cellar is the 2019 Richebourg Grand Cru, a full-bodied, multidimensional wine that evokes aromas of plums, sweet berry fruit, peonies, blood orange and Indian spices. Layered and concentrated, it's textural and enveloping, with an ample core of rich and perfumed fruit that almost entirely conceals its chassis of velvety structuring tannin.
