Deep crimson red in colour, it leaps from the glass with lifted aromas of violets that soon give way to ripe black fruits. With time, some savoury balsamic notes emerge, all framed by classy French oak that never dominates the fruit. The palate is rich, plush and concentrated with the abundant fruit generously coating your mouth. Yet, crucially, there is both freshness and minerality balancing the opulence. It finishes long and smooth with no hard edges, the fine-grained tannins cashmere in texture yet ensuring longevity.
