Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Clos de Vougeot 2011 from Louis Jadot has a relatively simple bouquet that lacks the complexity of some of its peers, although at least it is clean and fresh and less green. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, touches of white pepper and sous-bois that form its masculine, austere, but at the end of the day, not disagreeable finish. This is one for those that like classic style of Clos de Vougeot. 2015 - 2030
Real interest on the nose here in the autumn-undergrowth spectrum. Lots of slightly simple cherry fruit and a little bit of austerity on the finish. Correct rather than heart-stopping. Morello-cherry flavours. 2021 - 2032
