a stunning Burgundy laced with gorgeous inner perfume and the pure red fruit only Pinot can offer, all supported by the firm tannins typical of these sites. Quite frankly, I was blown away.
Jadot's 2009 Beaune 1er Cru 150th Anniversary was made from a number of parcels in the Cote de Beaune. I was not able to taste it back in February as the final blend had not been assembled, but the wine is now finished, resting in tank and awaiting imminent bottling. It is a stunning Burgundy laced with gorgeous inner perfume and the pure red fruit only Pinot can offer, all supported by the firm tannins typical of these sites. Quite frankly, I was blown away. I am told US retail will be around $50, as reasonable as 2009 Burgundy of this quality can be with our feeble US dollar. There are just over 6,000 cases, which means the wine should be easy to find.
FWIW, I am in for a case of mags...my instincts tell me this will be stunning from the big bottle.
