Barolo Torriglione, Roberto Voerzio 2011

Tasting Notes

The 2011 Barolo Torriglione is bright, lifted and gracious, with plenty of expressive red-fleshed fruit underpinned by the nervous tannins that are such a signature of this site. Cinnamon, mint, white pepper, crushed rose petals and red berries are all beautifully delineated in the glass. Although quite young, the Torriglione is all class through and through. A kick of nervous, youthful tannin adds character on the finish. I very much like the precision here. The Torriglione is bottled in magnum only and replaces the Capalot in the Voerzio range. To be released in 2017.
