Saturated ruby. Displays candied blue fruits, cherry, pungent flowers, olive and baking spices on the highly fragrant nose. Sweet and precise on the palate, offering mineral-laced blueberry, cherry-cola and violet pastille flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Smoothly blends power and delicacy and finishes long and spicy, with discreet tannins adding framework and gentle grip. 2024 - 2032
Deep and shiny ruby in the glass. The nose here carries the sweet redolence of the vintage, with damson, blackberry and blueberry on show together with a whiff of white pepper. On the palate, there is a deft balance, this is a supple and giving Cote Rotie that is approachable already, bursting with notes of dark cherry, blueberry and pink peppercorn, it has a finesse that tames the heat of the vintage. A fine, succulent effort that will drink well for a decade, gaining that savoury, peppery and gamey undertone with time.
(casks) dark robe; the nose is reserved, has a sweet centre, carries blue fruit, a note of grilling. The palate runs with lissom content, appeals via its silken texture, leads into a succulent, entertaining finish with plenty of squeezy richness there. The freedom and persistence of the fruit is its ace card, and it’s shapely, jolly Rôtie that will please. There’s a hint of mineral on the aftertaste, and that influence may well grow over time.
