Pure and charming, the 2023 Mâcon-Pierreclos offers up gently reductive aromas of pear, apples and white flowers. This lively, medium-bodied wine, produced from a parcel opposite Le Chavigne, was vinified in stainless steel. 2024 - 2030
Produced from old vines 500 metres from Domaine Guffens-Heynen’s Chavigne vineyard. Unoaked, as Jean-Marie Guffens believes it is sufficiently concentrated without it.
Mid greenish straw. Racy and pure. More focused and stony than the Bourgogne Blanc. Long. VGV (JR)
This wine from the village of Pierreclos is produced from old vines situated some 500 metres from the Domaine Guffens-Heynen Chavigne vineyard. Jean-Marie believes that it doesn't need any oak so it is matured in stainless steel as it has concentration, freshness and balance. Pale lemon in colour. There is a sweet edge to the fruit on both the nose and palate, honeyed citrus and poached pears coming through. This is a pure, fruit-driven wine with a touch of mineral tension on the palate thanks to the elevage. Cleansing acidity keeps the fruit fresh and vibrant through to a long, linear finish.
