as usual, the 2009 clos rene is well-made, but just doesn't hit the top echelon. it reveals a dense plum/ruby color, lots of sweet black cherry and plum-like fruit, lush, heady, medium to full-bodied flavors, silky tannins, and a robust, exuberant, fat finish. drink it over the next 10-15 years. (tasted once.)
