Tasting Notes

Medium red. Aromas of coffee and smoke, plus a suggestion of marc de Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Supple and thick but withdrawn in the early going, offering mocha, mint and earth flavors and a strong salty element. Very tactile, soil-inflected wine but not sweet or fruity today. The tannins are smooth and nicely integrated but this grand cru comes across as a bit disjointed today.
