Rivesaltes, Domaine de Sobilane 1961
Slightly deeper in colour than the 1962, the 1961 Rivesaltes has a drier, nuttier, slightly more Amontillado-inspired bouquet. The palate is viscous on the entry, notes of dried honey, white pepper, marmalade and quince, although for me the 1962 has more complexity and length on the finish. Still, this is very fine. Tasted with Philippe Gayral. 2018 - 2026

Demerara, granite and tar on the palate. Milk chocolate, freshly ground spices. Leathery and profound and rich. Sweet coffee scent on the finish.
