Chambolle Musigny, Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé 2014

Tasting Notes

A discreet, cool and wonderfully pure nose presents notes of violet, plum, black cherry and a hint of spice. The detailed, intense and stony middle weight flavors possess a lilting mouth feel while delivering fine depth and length on the refreshing and well-balanced finale.

The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Villages has a crisp, marine influenced bouquet all with fine delineation, a mixture of red and black fruit that unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with good salinity and grip on the entry, quite structured with good backbone, leaning almost to a Morey Saint Denis-like classicism towards the lightly spiced finish. This should drink well over the next 6-8 years. Tasted November 2016. Drink Date 2018 - 2027

The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a fragrant bouquet with juicy black cherry and raspberry fruit that is nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with light yet quite tensile tannin. There is a steeliness to this Chambolle - quite linear and precise with a twist of citrus peel on the finish. There is freshness and poise with minimum of fuss.
