"A beautiful wine with symmetry, finesse and elegance. This deep ruby/purple-coloured offering reveals classic aromas of black currants, new wood and scorched earth. This pure, medium-bodied, restrained, measured, graceful 1998 offers impressive overall symmetry as well as well-integrated tannin. |

Notably deep colour. Lovely nose – full and opulent. Burnt edge but very savoury and appetising. Very dramatic. A bit dry finish. Gouleyant. |

Dark colour, very good concentration with thick rich, almost jammy, fruit and lots of sexy vanilla/oak. Obvious but impressive. Continues the new style of wine made here since the mid 1990's. Maybe the best Smith yet. (FV 16) (WS 85-89) |
