Very vibrant lemons and limes with tropical fruit. Hints of mangeso and melon. The palate has silky, smooth fruit with seamless build and flow. Impressive. 85% sauvignon and 15% semillon. Drink or hold.
The Malartic Lagraviere 2015 Blanc, a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Sémillon, fermented in barrels, 65% of which were new and 35% of which were one year old, and the wine remained in barrel on its lees for 12 months. It features lovely lime juice, lemon zest and green apple notes with fresh straw and crushed stones plus a hint of white blossoms. The medium-bodied palate is fine, racy and refreshing with great intensity and length. 2019 - 2027
Smells sweeter than most of its peers. Not quite the attack and acidity that I'd like but good extract. Likely to be early maturing?
Drink 2017-2020
Salty-citrus aroma with a gentle oak-derived cedar note. Very dry, more grapefruit than lemon, tight, fresh, spicy finish, mouth-watering acidity increases the persistence. (JH) 14%
Drink 2018-2022
A blend of 85% Sauvignon and 15% Sémillon, the 2015 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is straight up smokin’ good. Made under the guidance of Michel Rolland, it boasts tons of minerality as well as classic citrus, lime and tangerine nuances. With terrific elegance, a fresh, elegant texture, and impressive concentration, it just another example of how good the whites are from the Graves region in 2015. Tasted three times. 2018 - 2028
Racy freshness on the nose the start of the palate is citrusy and bright. Sweet in the middle there is apricot richness with sweet fruit depth of flavour at the back. The finish is leaner bright with a good balancing acidity and length of flavour.
Refined and understated, as it was in 2014, this is one of the whites of the vintage. Aromatic
and alluring, with notes of sea breeze and oyster shell, subtle spicy oak and a backbone of
tangy acidity. Impressive stuff from a château that continues to improve. Drink: 2017-30
The sexy texture is exciting and this is not at the expense of oak but rather talented fruit extraction. Classy and long, this
is a decent wine.
The 2015 Malartic Lagraviere Blanc is a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon that was picked from 8-15 September and matured in 65% new oak. It has a crisp, vibrant, quite minerally bouquet, cold limestone and subtle patisserie/almost whipped cream-like scents. The palate is very well defined with a crisp line of acidity, citrus lemon and lime fanning out with confidence on the finish that completes one of the best Malartic-Lagravière whites that I have encountered at this stage.
A fresh white with sliced green apple, lemon rind and cream. Full body, bright acidity and a long and flavorful finish. Layered and very dense. Wonderful backbone
